Stacey wants to live in a world where people see themselves as a part of nature - interconnected with the living world, rather than separate from it. She is a biodiversity nerd and citizen scientist, with a BSc in Biodiversity and Conservation Biology and a graduate certificate in Environmental Visual Communication.
Her communication work has been featured by the CBC News, the Toronto Star, the Royal Ontario Museum, and more. She has designed and coordinated the communications and website for the Ontario BioBlitz program since 2014, and has taken the organization on her own as of 2018 as its lead coordinator. She also represents the blitz on the Biodiversity Education and Awareness Network board of directors, and is a member of the Town of Whitby Sustainability Advisory Committee.
When she’s not working or volunteering, you might find her wandering the green spaces and conservation areas of the Durham Region, often perched on a rock or tree with her nose in a book or patiently waiting for the perfect shot with her camera or cell phone. She also loves cuddling with her black cat, Poe, and playing and designing board games with her spouse and their friends. Her hair will probably be a different colour each time you see her.
